The Jerry Stefek Memorial Crawl for the Cure is back at Gamehole Con 13 n Saturday, October 17, 2026 for a Return to the Carnival of the Damned!
You experienced a day of marvelous fun at the wondrous traveling carnival which practically materialized outside your village! Clowns, animals, performers with astonishing skills to please the eye and much more danced before you and your children as you took in the joyous event! But now, you have woken in the night in an unknown panic and cold sweat – there is something wrong with the children! You leap from your bed to see the children’ s beds empty with a trail of wax paper candy wrappers leading to the gateway of a darkly transformed Carnival. The trail of wrappers continues into the (pink?) mist and you must follow, screaming your child’s name in hopes of a response to soothe your fearful soul…
We’ll be running a Mega-funnel of David Baity’s Carnival of the Damned, spiced up with mechanics from Rugby Melee Games’ Dungeon Dwelling Creatures, on a 12’x12′ Mega-map!
Your donations buy you favor with the Mistress of Fate, the mysterious patron providing guidance and aid in the Crawl through your Carnival Journey! The more players engaged in the funnel joining the search for the village children, the more spirit your adventuring parties will have to accomplish their quest! The bonuses to your actions increase when more players traverse the map!
Purchase a ticket for the event and join us whenever you have time for this ever-popular charity event benefitting the ! You will receive a memorial token for the event to present to play throughout the day! Multiple parties will work together to explore the wonders and horrors of the Carnival in search of the missing kids!
ALL funds collected at the event are passed on to the American Cancer Society. Your donations will directly benefit cancer patients and those affected by their suffering. We’re on track to have raised a lifetime total $40,000 by the end of 2026! Please rally with us to expand the Good we can generate for those in need by contributing to this very special event in memory of our good friend, Jerry Stefek!
Everyone that registers receives a token, eligibility to participate in hourly raffles and one hourly raffle ticket that can be used in any one hour’s raffle. And, of course, our players can expect our incredible sponsors to provide awesome hourly raffle prizes and end-of-event awesome prizes. During play, every $5 donated gets you another ticket for the hourly raffle. ($5 minimum donation for additional tickets)
Folks that don’t have time to play can also participate in the hourly raffles by paying the $10 registration fee. They’ll receive a token and one hourly raffle ticket upon registering. More can be purchased as described above. Registered non-players are encouraged to use their donations to influence the game, as well!
Donations will provide advantages to change the story and help you defeat the dark powers – the more donations generated, the more advantage characters are given in defeating the challenges of the Crawl!
Players will be provided with random 0-levels from our towers of fodder populated by thevels from our towers of fodder populated by the Purple Sorcerer Games party generator. There will be A LOT of character sheets on hand to win favor with the Mistress of Fate and save the children from whatever is happening in the mist! It will be an awesome event for Good to honor Jerry Stefek and his love of the hobby! Crawlers, save your children from the diabolical evils of the Carnival!
SPeCIAL ACTIVITIES FOR THE cRAWL FOR THE CURE AT GAMEHOLE CON 12 2026!
We’ll once again be setting up a few memorials for our lost friends and fighting survivors this year:
- Our picture memorial of those who have passed this year in our community, “Adventures’ Rest”, will return. If you have lost a gaming friend who passed in the last year and would like to honor them at the event, please contact us at jerryscrawlforthecure@gmail.com with a photo of your friend or loved one. We will do our best to place them in our memorial in Adventurers’ Rest.
- Peter Garancis will return with the “Pillar of Strength” honoring both those who have lost to cancer and those who have survived this disease. A small donation will enable you to place ribbons in their honor. It will be an awesome sight and an incredible rememberance for our loved ones, bringing warm memories and hope! Thank you, Peter!
