Your Gamehole Con 11 2024 Judges

JudgeAbout

Edwin Nagy
Edwin is a partner at Frog God Games and their primary 5e developer. He is a longtime member of the Skype of Cthulhu podcast and has recently been hanging with This Ol’ Dungeon. He is excited to be back with DCC Mayhem! Let’s play games and crush cancer!

Judge Gary
During the fateful summer of 1980, Gary read The Hobbit for the 1st time, played Adventure! on Atari and was introduced to the Holmes Blue Box edition of D&D. The die was cast, both literally & figuratively! Flash forward 35 years, after experiencing the Kovacs-ian madness of his first DCC funnel, everything old was made new again.

Judge Jim
Jim Meyers started gaming in the mid 80's. After an almost 30-year hiatus from RPG's, an invitation to GenCon 2013 relit the flame and he jumped back in with both feet. Starting initially with Pathfinder he discovered DCC and all its fantastic variants (MCC, X Crawl, Weird Frontiers) and has been hooked ever since! He is a GM and DCC Road Crew Judge bringing DCC to the masses in southeast Wisconsin. He has play tested for Goodman Games, Breaker Press, and 2 Old Guys Games and participated in several streaming events in the past few years.

Jim lost a close lifelong friend (and gaming buddy) to cancer several years ago and is happy to join in the fight to find a cure!

Judge Keith
Judge Keith Nelson. Scientist, teacher, Road Crew Judge, DCC enthusiast, popularizer of the phrase “Are you…happy with that result?” Some may call him mad for DCC…or just mad. Beginning his DCC journey in the mists of time, harking back to the early 2010’s, he happily runs DCC, MCC, Weird Frontiers, and most other forms of the game at cons around the upper Midwest.

Julian Bernick
Judge Julian is a long time GM of oldschool games and freelance writer who has done work for Goodman Games, Shield of Faith Studios, Order of the Quill and Steve Bean Games. He also co-hosts the Ennie-award winning Spellburn podcast about all things DCC RPG and published his first book of poetry this year, "A Record of the Most Unfortunate Doings at Castle Bash."

Christophor Rick
Christophor has been playing tabletop RPGs since 1979. He was the creative director at 2 Old Guys Games and is now solo with his Ophoric Labs brand. Progenitor of the Maidenverse that started with Ziggurat of the Mega-Maiden (now available in print!) and continued with Megaton Maiden (also in print!). His other endeavors include the Wizard Sea Chronicles, a homebrew setting in zine format, and numerous other adventures, supplements, and resources. You can find him on Twitter, Discord, Patreon, and DTRPG/Roll20.

Jason Hobbs
Jason Hobbs AKA Scott Hubbs ENny nominated podcaster and GM from way back in the day. He runs Actual Plays at Mr Hobbs' Gamerhood and publishes zines.

Brian Jubilation Martin
Long-time villager, Brian placed 3rd in the Death by Nexus event but missed the trophy ceremony due to a backlog of gong harvesting.
To complete your copy of the DCC rulebook, print a copy of this photo and tape it next to Jason Stierle and Haley Skach in the picture section.
Brian is the co-author of the game Gunfighter's Ball.

Paul Smith

Bjorn Nelson
Molded from a young age by DCC, Judge Bjorn has hacked and slashed his way through conventions for almost half of his life. When he takes a seat at the table, it's said even the dice start to tremble in fear.

Bill
I cut my teeth playing role playing games with the Holmes box set. I enjoy running and playing old school games as well as current game systems. I playtest for several game designers and indie companies.

Ray
A best bud of Judge Cory, Ray has jumped in to helped slay the dragons needed to make this event possible. Crazy is a reoccurring thing in our lives.

StaffAbout
Judge Cory Brandolyn Red
Cory Welch
Judge and occasional streamer of DCC games at DCC_Mayhem. Loves the Goodman Games RPG lines and deep unerring roots in the Call of Cthulhu RPG. I only played with Jerry
a few times, and I was mostly an acquaintance. I attended Jerry's memorial service and I was astounded with what I learned about this incredible gentleman we had lost, and the realization of the loss his family, friends and our world has experienced. Thanks for making this a better place, Jerry!

Steve
Late starter, and plays more often than ever would have thought. Usually makes mistakes when creating characters, and has no problem with a good pre-gen. Snacks way too much while gaming.

Hazel
Essential woman of awesome and now artificer of Ethermeet Luck! Hazel's work and support for the Crawl (and the organizer Cory!) makes it possible. She is the grammar master keeping our releases sane for your consumption!
