Wrap of Crawl for the Cure: Ethermeet 2024 – many apologies

Hello all! It has been a while since I’ve communicated and I will quickly apologize. I have to admit the been very “distracted” with current state of things in the U.S. and it has taken more of a toll on my being than I would like. I did take some personal time for myself for self-reflection in life and work in the downtime. It has taken me a while to get back to the Crawl, but your Xcrawl DJs Jim Meyers and Keith Nelson have been getting the game ready for Gamehole Con 2025 – Xcrawl 4 the Cure! I am sorry that my delay has resulted closing out Ethermeet this late. If you could forgive me, I would appreciate your kindness. Thank you!

We do have some great news! Our donations total expanded thanks to additional donations from Pete Garanacis of Dark Nebula Games ($100) and Jim Skach and the crew from Limiting Factor Games (DynaMaps!) ($200)! These generous donations in addition to our artwork proceeds kicked it up our Ethermeet ending total near $4,000!  To make sure we made this milestone, I kicked in a bit more for “interest” on the delay of payment in February to the American Cancer Society,  making the late donations up to $425. This brought our total for the Ethermeet event to $4,016 – we hit the $4,000 mark and beyond! (https://crawlforthecure.net/wpcftc/?page_id=2083) THANK YOU, ALL for this tremendous help to the ACS!  That puts our 5-year total to $27,595.95, which, gauging by historical contributions, should set our passing of the $30K mark at XCrawl 4 the Cure 2025 at Gamehole! Very exciting!

I do bring news of awesome things which progressed and are coming to the Crawl for the Cure inspired by your contributions!:

  1. The portait of our dear friend Aaron Koelman painted through the eyes and talents of Doug Kovacs has been completed, and we have delivered it Aaron’s wife Bridget and son Aleric. It is a thing of beauty, and we thank Doug Kovacs for preserving the majesty of Aaron in his art forever. Bridget will bring the framed artwork to Gamehole Con, so everybody and see it live!
  2. We have sent the Thanatar sketch (Jennell Jaquays’ character portrait, transforming from magic-user to dragon!) by Nate Marcel to Jennell’s partner, Rebecca!  It’s a stunning artwork, and we’re very happy to have it passed to her hands!
  3. The Treasure Room – look forward to seeing Aaron’s portrait, other commissioned artworks and gaming material from Bob Brinkman and other Crawl work from our events being added to our upcoming Treasure Room website to share with the community!  This will take some work, but we hope to unveil this to you in the near future!
  4. The Jerry Stefek Memorial Tokens for Ethermeet have been sitting in Welch Manse for way too long! We will be sending these out to donors soon!  I am so sorry for the delay!

Don’t forget – our next event will be The Jerry Stefek Memorial Xcrawl 4 the Cure Gamehole Con 2025! Bring your 0-level candidates to gain glory and fame in the Imperial Death Sport of the North American Empire at Gamehole Con in October! Xcrawl has been hijacked by the evil demon Mammon and his minions, as the gods of the Pantheon have turned their backs on the honored competition. Your crawlers will conquer the challenges of Xcrawl searching for the sacred patches to adorn Apollo’s battle vest to return his eyes and blessings to Xcrawl! Look for more information in the near future! One thing I can tell you is Goodman Games has provided us three hardcovers, all signed by multiple folks at Gencon 2025!: Xcrawl Classics Special Edition Rulebook, a Dungeon Denizens Special Edition, and a DCC Rulebook!  We’re excited to hand one of these books off to you for your incredible donations to the American Cancer Society!!! We can’t wait to see you at Gamehole Con 2025!

Thank you for making Ethermeet 2024 such a huge success!!!

Thank you!
